I read a newspaper article that Korea's fertility rate is the lowest in Asia except Taiwan, Singapore. Although government try to boost childbirth-rate, it seem to fail until now.
There is so many ideas and policies. It is focus on money to raise a child.
Money is an important factor to raise a child. But childcare subsidy can't solves all problems.
I was reinstated last week after parental leave. But I didn't complete the originally planned parental leave period. It's because social's prejudice and concern about losing my position. Most of people to get parental leave suffered these problems. Even if you are a woman to give a birth a child. If you are a man, it is needless to say.
Korea's traditional prejudice about family is that father is a person to make money, not a person to raise a child. Actually that prejudice is not confined to Korea. It is spread to Asia's country underlying Confucian concept in society.
Money given by government's subsidy solves many of problems caused by raising a child. But also it is not a panacea for low fertility rate. It is also need to establish favorable social's awareness raising child.
